Most of the time, when you experience back pain it stems from muscle strain or muscle tension – which may or may not actually originate in your back. One of the most effective ways of healing back pain is to use relaxation techniques to relieve muscle tension and strains. When it comes to relaxation techniques, there are few which are better than Tai Chi, which consists of relaxation techniques, deep breathing and stretching.
We here in the west have a different view of relaxation than in Asia. We look at relaxing as doing nothing. When you have back pain, that is the worst thing in the world you could do. Instead of inactivity, we need to learn to give our back and spine a chance to let us know the problem.
Reducing stress will go a long way towards healing back pain. Stress is a part of everyday life, both here in the USA and in the parts of Asia that have developed the ancient art of Tai chi. The difference is that the inventors of Tai chi have found a way to alleviate back pain while working through it, not ignoring it.
What we do here in the west is try to will the pain away. We bury ourselves in television, surfing the Internet or trying to otherwise take our minds off of the pain. That may work for a while, but when you stop that activity, the pain is right there waiting for you. In some cases, ignoring it could make the pain worse.
Behind Tai chi is the idea that if you listen to the pain, you begin to understand it. When you understand it, you are more able to facilitate healing that back pain. The use of this method of smooth fluid movements and deep breathing techniques has worked for centuries. It must have been working because it is still around and still practices all over the Asian continent.
So the next time you are need to start healing back pain, don’t just push it away and hope it stops – it won’t just go away. Instead, go get yourself a book on relaxation techniques and try some. When you find one that works for you, stick with it. Once your back pain is gone, don’t stop with the exercises. They will act as a regulatory medicine for healing back pain.
As little as five minutes a day can help you to not only find relief from back pain, but to prevent it from coming back and improving your general health. You will also learn how to improve posture.
There are many books on this subject available as well as websites which provide information. It’s well worth your time to read some of these resources and make a habit of practicing these exercises. If it’s working for you, keep it up; you don’t have to devote a lot of time to your exercises. Even a few minutes per day can help you to begin healing back pain and to keep it away for a lifetime.
If you will do this for yourself, you will find that healing back pain is a simple matter of relaxing the proper way and will work wonders for you.

Healing Back Pain $23.03 HEALING BACK PAIN offers relief from chronic back pain without drugs, surgery, or even exercise. Recognizing the connection between the mind and the body, Dr. John Sarno explains how back pain can be the end result of long-term emotional pain, particularly Tension Myositis Syndrome, better known as TMS. According to Dr. Sarno, TMS is the predominant cause of back and shoulder pain in people of all ages. Although its origins are unknown, Sarno has discovered through years of clinical studies that TMS is a physiologic alteration in the muscles, nerves, tendons, and ligaments that make up the postural muscles–the neck, entire back, and buttocks–of the body. According to Dr. Sarno, the body is tricked into expressing this unspoken pain by the unconscious mind, causing the conscious mind to recognize it but without the ability to heal it. In HEALING BACK PAIN, Dr. Sarno explains how anxiety and unexpressed anger can trigger a muscle spasm, why successful people are more prone to TMS, and how people train themselves into living with chronic pain. Most importantly, Dr. Sarno includes a specific plan of action for sufferers that is the first step to defeating this painful syndrome. |
